The following video clips demonstrate the simplicity and accuracy of using the weld monitor unit in detecting 0.1W/S changes in a basic capacitor discharge spot welding configuration. In actual fact, the unit is detecting changes of < 0.5% in delivered energy.

A change from 6.0 W/S to 5.9W/S is a 1.7% change in output power.  

Since some of the power is lost in the joints and cables, this demo is showing a delivered energy change of 0.5% !  

Try doing that with equipment costing 5 times the price !!

With this double pulse weld, the pulse separation time is around 300ms whereas each weld pulse is around 2ms.

Again the actual change in delivered energy across the two weld pulses is < 0.5%.

The weld monitor unit is able to accurately track the energy delivered from both pulses and detect very small changes that are indicative of a weld process problem.
